GREENVILLE, Ill. – The University of Northwestern men's outdoor track and field team had their first day of competition in the NCCAA Championships, hosted at the John Strahl Athletic Complex. The Eagles have four student-athletes competing for national titles this week.
Jamon Howard (Fargo, N.D. /Fargo South) placed 12
th in the Triple Jump for UNW. The senior flew 12.78 meters for the Eagles. Howard also took 30
th in the 100 Meter Dash at 11.39 seconds.
Cameron Larson (Long Prairie, Minn./Long Prairie-Grey Eagle), competing in his first NCCAA Outdoor Championships, took 12
th in the 10k Meter Run with a time of 36:00.19.
John Shevchuk (Ham Lake, Minn.) finished 31
st in the 100 Meter Dash, running an 11.49. The freshman added a season-best finish in the 200 Meter Dash with a 23.04 time.
Josiah Nielsen (Roseville, Minn./Concordia Academy) placed 10
th in the 110 Meter Hurdles for the Eagles. The sophomore completed the race in 19.52 seconds.
