MANKATO, Minn.- The University of Northwestern Men's Soccer team competed against the Vikings from Bethany Lutheran on Wednesday night. The Eagles dropped the road contest 2-0.
The Vikings scored once in each half to earn the victory, finding the back of the net in both the 26
th and 79
th minutes. The Eagles played a strong second half as the shots category was nearly even with the Vikings tallying eight shots and the Eagles recording six.
Andrew Skoglund (Northfield, Minn./Skoglund Academy) racked up four saves in net for the Eagles while
Jonathan-Thomas Olsen (Modesto, Calif./James Enochs High) and
Nathan Martinez (Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee) led the team in shots with two apiece.
Mitchell Pfeifer (Blaine, Minn./Avail Academy),
Rigo Arellano (San Diego, Calif./Montgomery), and
Curtis Tinjum (Wausau, Wisc./Wausau West) all recorded a shot in the contest as well.
The Eagles will close out the regular season with their final game on Saturday against Martin Luther College in New Ulm. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 P.M. start.
