ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. – The University of Northwestern men's soccer team matched up against Crown College Saturday afternoon. Two first half goals for the Eagles propelled them past the Storm to take the win 2-1.

In the third minute of play,
Breen Eiden () scored the first goal of the game off of a pass from
David Shoemaker (Danville, Iowa/Danville Community School). Just nine minutes later, Crown tied things up at one. As UNW continued to dominate, taking 28 shots to the Storm's three,
William Marsan (Eden Prairie, Minn./Home School) found the back of the net to score his fourth goal on the year, with close to one minute left in the first half.
As the second half was underway, the Eagles continued to possess and keep control of the ball. Again Northwestern took many more shots than Crown, 18-2 respectively. Although there were many chances to score in the second, no more goals were scored, finalizing the game at 2-1.
Eight different Eagles had multiple shots in the Saturday afternoon contest.
Northwestern will round out regular season play Tuesday evening as they host the Bethany Lutheran College Vikings for a 7:30 pm kickoff.
