Men's Soccer Hosts St. Scholastica

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The University of Northwestern men's soccer team hosted the College of St. Scholastica Thursday evening. Being held to only four shots, the Eagles lost 0-4.

UNW falls to 5-9 on the season and 1-3 in the UMAC, while the Saints move to 3-0 in conference play.

The first half began with tough play as both teams battled back and forth. JT Olsen was able to get a shot off before Breen Eidan took his lone shot of the half that was saved by the goalkeeper. In the 39th minute of play, CSS found the back of the net to go up 1-0 before the half.

Northwestern goalkeeper John-Charles Micklich (Normal, Ill./Bloomington Central Catholic) collected six saves in the first half alone.

Early on in the second half, the Saints scored back-to-back goals to go up 3-0 on the Eagles. JT Olsen had two more shots, but was not able to score on either. With just five minutes left in the match, St. Scholastica scored their final goal.

JT Olsen finished with four shots (one shot-on-goal) and Breen Eidan added two (one shot-on-goal). Goalkeeper John-Charles Micklich (Normal, Ill./Bloomington Central Catholic) ended the game with his career high seven saves.
