Noah Alm Scores 1,000th Point in UMAC Quarterfinal Win Over Martin Luther

ST. PAUL, Minn- Northwestern hosted Martin Luther for the Eagle's first UMAC Tournament game Saturday night in the Ericksen Center. The Knight's came back in second half action before UNW pulled away for a 71-60 win. Noah Alm (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake) led the team with 24 points and joined the 1,000 point club Thursday night.
 
Northwestern set the tone for the game winning the tip into a fast layup by Kyle Kaemingk (Woodbury, Minn./New Life Academy). Soon after, Noah Alm (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake) followed with another bucket. The team came ready to play, the bench scoring eight points in the first half.

The Eagles worked hard in the paint scoring 22; UNW netted 6-6 from the free throw line the first half. The first half ended with Northwestern leading 38-21. 
 
UNW started the second half with a drive to the paint from Kyle Kaemingk (Woodbury, Minn./New Life Academy). Aggressive defense brought energy to the team with six blocks in the second half alone. UNW finished strong at the basket scoring 36 (total) points in paint. Northwestern ended the game shooting several free throws winning 71-60.
 
Northwestern swatted nine balls in the game compared to Martin Luther's 2 blocks and shot 11 free throws to the Knights six.
 
Noah Alm (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake) led the team with 24 points and nine rebounds. Kyle Kaemingk (Woodbury, Minn./New Life Academy) added 14 points and six rebounds.
 
UNW will be back in action Saturday for UMAC Semifinal action against North Central University in the Ericksen Center, tip-off at 7:00 pm.
