ST. PAUL, Minn. - The University of Northwestern St. Paul Women's Tennis team rallied down 3-1 to take a 5-4 win over the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Friday. The match was the first one hosted on UNW's campus in nearly two years.
Northwestern jumped out to an early 1-0 lead with an 8-2 win at the #2 doubles match by Ellie Dodge (Wahpeton, N.D./Wahpeton) and Taylar Smith (Litchfield, Minn./Litchfield). River Falls countered by winning both remaining doubles matches to go up 2-1.

Northwestern started to climb back into it with a 6-0, 6-1 win by Dodge in the #4 match. Belinda Weddle (Rhinelander, Wis./Rhinelander) proceeded to tie the match at 3-3 with a 6-1, 6-2 win at the #2 contest. The Eagles then took a 4-3 lead with Taylar Smith's (Litchfield, Minn./Litchfield) 6-4, 6-2 win at #6 singles.
On the verge of winning four consecutive points to win the match, the Eagles needed Sabrina Bush (White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake) to rally for the win. The sophomore fell 6-4 in the opening set, but flipped the script with a 6-4 win in the second set.
