ST. PAUL, Minn. Northwestern hosted Crown College on Thursday night for the Eagles last conference and regular season game before the UMAC Tournament. UNW extends their winning streak against the Storm to 14 as they fly by to win 84-17. The Eagles held Crown scoreless in the first and to only six points in the second quarter.
Megan Roberts (Greeley, Colo./Dayspring Christian Academy) won the tip to start the game. Northwestern played tough defense that resulted in a travel from Crown College and the first points of the game from behind the arc made by

Several plays including blocks, steals and overall great defense kept the Eagles dominating the court and set the tone for the rest of the game. UNW was five for five from behind the arc and 50 percent from the free throw line. The first quarter ended 32-0 for Northwestern.
UNW started the second with a bucket from Haley Paup. With two minutes to go, the Storm finally scored with a shot from the behind the arc. Tremendous defense kept the Eagles up 44 points before Crown College scored.
UNW's eight steals and their aggression on the boards earned 10 second chance points to the Storm's zero. The second quarter ended with a historic score of 44-6.
Northwestern started the third with a three by
Brooklyn DeKam (Edgerton, Minn./Southwest MN Christian). Great playmaking highlighted the team's skill and snagged several points in the third quarter for UNW. The Eagles were 71 percent from the floor and whittled eight fast break points. Northwestern stole another 3 balls to end the third quarter up 66-13.
UNW started the fourth with a three from junior,
Grace Langmade (Pine City, Minn./Pine City). The team finished strong with great defense. Freshman, Anika Dykstra, scored her career high of seven points with work from the inside and great shots from the free throw line.
Deafening defense was the strength of the team and great communication made for great plays on the offensive end. The team walked away with a historic score of 84-17 to finish their regular season. The Eagles begin tournament action with an eight point win streak and look to extend into next month.
