Women's Basketball Falls to Wartburg in Their First Game of the New Year

ST.PAUL, Minn. – The University of Northwestern Women's Basketball squad was back in action after a month hiatus, playing host to Wartburg College on Saturday afternoon. Your Eagles finished 2020 with a 4-2 record and came in looking to start off the New Year 1-0. Wartburg, hailing from the American Rivers Conference, came into the matchup with a 2-0 record.

The Eagles struggled again from the field in the 2nd quarter, shooting only 15%. Wartburg outscored UNW 20-5 in the quarter, bringing the score at the half, Eagles 12, Wartburg 30.

UNW came out of the half with a vengeance, outscoring Wartburg 9-5 to start the quarter. The Eagles went on to outscore Wartburg 19-18 to end the quarter and bring the score to UNW 31, Wartburg 48.

Wartburg went on to outscore UNW once again in the 4th quarter, 14-10, to bring a final score of 62-41, in favor of Wartburg.
