Box Score SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – The University of Northwestern men's soccer team was back in action Saturday afternoon when they headed down to Sioux Center, Iowa to take on Dordt College. The Eagles are coming off an impressive 4-1 over Maranatha Baptist last Thursday. UNW fought hard in this matchup but ended up falling 4-1. The Eagles are now sitting at 1-3 on the season.
The Eagles came out aggressive in the first half, with 10 shots and 7 shots on goal. The game was scoreless until 9 minutes left in the first half when
Jakob Wesselink (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Linn-Mar High School) scored the Eagles first goal of the match with an assist from
Luke McCann (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield High School).
The Second half wouldn't be so kind to the Eagles as Dordt would go on to score 4 unanswered goals and out shoot the Eagles 13-2. The Eagles would go on to have 12 shots for the game with 8 shots on goal.
Samuel Jorgensen (Milwaukee, Wis./West Allis Central) would lead the Eagles in the shot department with 3, While Senior
Samuel Hendry (Spooner, Wis./Spooner High School) would add 2.
