ST.PAUL, Minn. – The University of Northwestern men's soccer team took on the V-Hawks of Viterbo in their home opener Tuesday night. It was a hard fought match for the Eagles but the end result was not in their favor for this one.
Viterbo got on the board first, scoring at the 14:46 minute mark and bringing the score to 1-0. The Eagles would not back down though, with
Jonathan-Thomas Olsen (Modesto, Calif./James Enochs High) scoring at the 18:33 minute mark in the first half, who was assisted by
Isaac Friesen (Mora, Minn./Home School).
Viterbo would go on to outscore the Eagles 3-0 the rest of the way, making the final score 4-0. Northwestern ended the night with nine shots on goal while also having 3 saves from the net.
UNW will look to bounce back on Thursday, September 17th as they take on Maranatha Baptist at Reynolds field with a kickoff of 3pm.
