ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The University of Northwestern is set to open in the fall of 2020, with in-person classes offered at the St. Paul campus. Our traditional fall term begins Aug. 26, 2020. At present, we are also planning to open residence halls at that time, for students who wish to live on campus. The UNW fall student-athletes are set to arrive on campus between August 12 and August 17, depending on their sport.
We are taking careful and researched precautions about how to accommodate the health needs of our students, faculty, and staff—especially those who are at increased risk for the COVID-19 virus. This guide outlines necessary procedures to ensure our student-athletes safe return to campus as well as guidelines set by the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, the NCAA and UNW's Sports Medicine and Administrative staff. It will continue to be revised as information and understanding of COVID-19 evolves.
