ST. PAUL, MINN. – The University of Northwestern men's track and field team traveled down Snelling to compete against nine other teams in Friday night action at the Macalester Hamster Invite. St. John's came away as the overall team winner, while the Eagles scored 39 team points to secure sixth overall.

Junior
Darrell Myles (New Orleans, La./Covington) recorded a person best time in the 60m dash. Crossing the line in 7.21 seconds, Myles posted a seventh place finish to score two points.
UNW tacked on additional points in 4x400 action. The team, made up of
Cody Christenson (Washburn, Wis./Washburn),
Ben Lundsten (Hugo, Minn./Mahtomedi),
Josiah Otis (Freeport, Maine/Homeschool) and
Brent Reller (Melrose, Minn./Melrose Area) ran a 3:56.97, trailing only Bethel and St. John's.
In field event action,
Josiah Otis (Freeport, Maine/Homeschool) soared to 3.50m, good enough for fourth place in the pole vault. Otis's performance is the second best in the UMAC this season.
Freshman
Travaris Ricks (Brooklyn Center, Minn.) had a breakout performance in the long jump, securing a long of 6.49m to come in second in the event. Ricks holds the second longest jump in the league.
Felipe Ramirez (/Faribault, Minn.) picked up another second place finish for the Eagles when he threw a personal best 14.57m toss in the shot put.
