FOREST CITY, Iowa – Coming off a close win Saturday vs Viterbo, The University of Northwestern's women's basketball team was back in action on Wednesday night to take on Waldorf. It was all UNW in this one, beating Waldorf 91-46.
The Eagles got up big in the first half and did not look back, outscoring the Warriors 51-18 going into the half.
Megan Roberts (Greeley, Colo./Dayspring Christian Academy) and
Hailey Paup (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Concordia Academy) led the charge for the Eagles in the first half, combining for 28 points.
Coming out of the half, UNW kept up their pace and outscored the Warriors 40-28.
The Eagles dominated in the paint, outscoring Waldorf 42-16 in points scored in the paint.
Megan Roberts (Greeley, Colo./Dayspring Christian Academy) had herself a huge game, finishing the night with her second double-double of the year, 22 points and 10 rebounds.
Hailey Paup (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Concordia Academy), for the second consecutive game, tied her career high in points with 18 while also adding 8 rebounds. Senior Guard
Courtney Schmidt (Spring Valley, Minn./Kingsland) contributed 11 points with 4 rebounds and 3 assists on the night.
The Eagles now sit at 3-0 on the year, while Waldorf moves to 0-4.
UNW will look for win number four on the season when they head over to La Crosse, Wisconsin to take on Viterbo University on December 8
th.
