Box Score LA CROSSE, Wis. – The University of Northwestern men's soccer team headed over to La Crosse, Wisconsin for a Thursday afternoon showdown to take on the Viterbo V-Hawks. The Eagles are coming off a victory over Maranatha Baptist on Tuesday and came in looking for their second win of the week. It was a rough game for the Eagles, as Viterbo took this one 5-0. The Eagles now sit at 2-4 on the season.
Viterbo would score 2 first half goals on 4 shots to go up on the Eagles 2-0 at the half. The shots were not falling for the Eagles as they would come up empty after attempting 6 shots in the first half.
The Second half was the same story but different half as the Eagles attempted 3 shots but once again came up empty. Viterbo would go on to score 3 more goals on 7 shots in the second half to defeat the Eagles 5-0.
Freshman
Luke McCann (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield High School) led the way for the Eagles in shots with 4, while
Cole Alfrey (Elkhorn, Neb./Elkhorn),
Jonathan-Thomas Olsen (Modesto, Calif./James Enochs High),
Peter Skoglund (Northfield, Minn./Skoglund Academy), and
Jakob Wesselink (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Linn-Mar High School) all chipped in 1.
Andrew Skoglund (Northfield, Minn./Homeschool) would add 4 saves for the afternoon.
The Eagles will look to get back on track when they head to Ankeny, Iowa on October 15
