Kalley Schwitters (Clara City, Minn./Central Christian) came away with the Offensive Award after a dominant weekend at the Kathryne Pals Legacy Invitational, while freshman
Marylyn Schroyer (Ft. Collins, Colo./Ft. Collins) landed the Defensive Player of the Week honor. The awards are nominated by UMAC coaches and sports information directors and selected by SIDs.

Kalley Schwitters (Clara City, Minn./Central Christian) – Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week
The junior outside hitter made an impressive impact in the Eagles opening weekend of action. Schwitters recorded three double-doubles (in kills and digs) as Northwestern went 2-1 overall at the Kathryne Pals Legacy Invitational. In UNW's opening win over St. Norbert, Schwitters recorded 12 kills and hit a .333. She averaged 3.4 kills per set and 4.3 digs per set in 11 sets played over the weekend.
Marylyn Schroyer (Ft. Collins, Colo./Ft. Collins) – Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week
In her collegiate debut,
Marylyn Schroyer (Ft. Collins, Colo./Ft. Collins) played with confidence, guiding Northwestern on the defensive end with 62 total digs. Schroyer averaged 5.64 digs per set and recorded a season-best 25 in the Eagle's four set win over Coe on Saturday.
Northwestern will travel to St. Joseph Minnesota for a trimatch against Concordia and St. Ben's on Sept. 7. The Eagles will open conference play on Sept. 10 when they welcome Crown College to the Ericksen Center for a 7 p.m. slate.
