ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The University of Northwestern women's tennis team welcomed Martin Luther College to St. Paul for Friday afternoon conference action. The Eagles downed the Knights, 9-0 to improve to 8-8 on the year and 2-0 in conference play.
The Eagles dropped just five games in doubles action to cruise to three wins before winning all six singles match-ups.
Gracie LeBrun (Pine City, Minn./Pine City) and
Rachel Lukkarila (Becker, Minn./Homeschool) posted an 8-0 win at no. 3 doubles. Lukkarila and
Mafee Rinta (Hudson, Wis./Hudson) also recorded 6-0, 6-0 wins in singles action as Northwestern sealed the 9-0 final victory.
The Eagles prepare to welcome North Central University on Tuesday, April 9. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. against the Rams.
