ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The University of Northwestern men's tennis team welcomed Bethany Lutheran to St. Paul for an evening of Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) action. The match, which originally began Wednesday, was completed this evening due to a prolonged rain delay. The Eagles swept the Vikings, improving to 12-9 overall, 5-0 in league play.
The Eagles took all three doubles matches, highlighted by an 8-0 win at no. 2 doubles from
Shawna Spears (Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln) and
Mafee Rinta (Hudson, Wis./Hudson).
Northwestern was even more dominant in singles play, as five of the six singles matches lost only a single game in their straight set wins.

Northwestern will retrun to action on Friday, April 26 when they travel to UW-Superior to take on the Yellowjackets. First serve is slated for 4 p.m. The Eagles and St. Scholastica remain unbeaten in UMAC play. Superior sits at 4-1 in conference action this season.
