Women's Tennis Storms Past Crown, 9-0

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The University of Northwestern women's tennis team welcomed Crown College to St. Paul for the Eagles conference and home opener Tuesday evening. Despite a slight delay due to rain, the Eagles resumed play to record a 9-0 victory over the Storm.

After dropping just a single game in doubles action, Northwestern accomplished an impressive feat of winning all six singles matches 6-0, 6-0. Junior Bridget Zappe (Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview) recorded a golden set, not dropping a single point in her 6-0 first set at no. 6 singles.

The Eagles improve to 7-8 overall this season and 1-0 in the UMAC. They will return to play on Saturday, April 6 when they welcome Martin Luther to St. Paul for an 11 a.m. conference match-up.
