MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. – The University of Northwestern women's basketball team made the short trip to Augsburg University for the season's first road game. The Auggies were picked to finish second in this year's Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Preseason Poll. The Eagles put together a strong first quarter, but fell in an 86-63 final.
The Eagles fall to 0-3 on the year after facing three tough MIAC opponents. Augsburg moves to 2-0 this season, their first win coming against UW-Superior.
Northwestern led the Auggies 17-15 following first quarter play propelled by seven points from
Miranda Crenshaw (Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview). Augsburg put together a pair of big offensive quarters in the 2nd and 3rd to gradually break away. They led by a game-best 23 with three minutes remaining in the fourth.
