DULUTH, MINN. – The University of Northwestern men's soccer team made the trip north to take on the Saints of St. Scholastica (5-3-1, 4-0-1 UMAC) in a Saturday afternoon contest. The Saints defeated the Eagles by a final score of 5-0. With the loss, UNW moves to 3-6-0 overall and 1-4-0 in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play.
St. Scholastica started the game hot, scoring three unanswered goals in the first half. Northwestern was able to get four shots off, but were unable to get any in goal. The Eagles trailed 3-0 entering halftime.
The Saints kept their foot on the pedal in the second half. Scholastica added two more goals on ten shots to make the final score 5-0. Northwestern did not give up though, tallying four more shots.
