ST. PAUL, MINN. – The University of Northwestern men's soccer team hosted the St. Scholastica Saints (3-2-1, 2-0-1 UMAC) in a Tuesday evening matchup. The Saints defeated the Eagles by a final score of 5-2, making their record 3-3-0 overall and 1-2-0 in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play.
The first half was evenly matched between the two teams. Both squads were able to notch a goal in the opening frame, with Northwesterns goal coming from a
Derrick Aminga (Andover, Minn./Andover) strike midway through the period.
The Saints took over in the second half, outscoring the Eagles 4-1. Aminga was able to tally his second goal of the contest, but it was not enough to lift the Eagles over Scholasticas powerful offense.
The Eagles will take on UW-Superior on Saturday, September 22 for their next contest. Fans can visit
