ST. BONIFACIUS, MINN – The University of Northwestern men's soccer team traveled to take on Crown College (6-12-1, 6-6-0 UMAC) in a mid-week conference contest. The Storm defeated the Eagles by a final score of 2-0. With the loss, UNW falls to 4-13-1 overall and 2-8-1 in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play.
The first half was slow on the offensive end for both teams. Northwestern was able to fire off five shots, to Crown's three. With the defenses holding down the backfields, both team was able to score a goal and the score was 0-0 entering the break.
Both offenses began to click in the second half, with each team totaling nine shots. The Eagles were not able to find the back of the net with their shots, however. The Storm, on the other hand, was able to score two unanswered goals to beat the Eagles 2-0.
