ST. PAUL, MINN. – The University of Northwestern men's soccer team [4-2-2, 3-0-1 UMAC] came up short, 3-0, to Carleton College [6-3, 1-2 MIAC] Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference contest. The Eagles battled hard, but were unable to defeat the Knights on the mid-day match.
The first 45-minute frame was well-contested, as both teams defended their nets with the best of their abilities, keeping the score leveled 0-0 at the halftime break.
Taking on the second period, CC knocked in two goals by the 56-minute mark, and then a final one at the 79' to seal a 3-0 win over UNW.
Concluding the game, Northwestern totaled three shots [0 SOG], while Carleton recorded 22 shots [6 SOG].
