ST. BONIFACIUS, MINN. – In Saturday's mid-day battle against Crown College [1-7. 0-3 UMAC], the University of Northwestern men's soccer team soared to a 4-2 victory over the Storm. With the win, the Eagles improves to 4-1-2 [3-0-1 UMAC] on the season.
Taking on the first period, both teams tallied one goal apiece, balancing the score 1-1 at the intermission break.
Five minutes into the second half action, CC knocked in their second to boost a 2-1 lead. Three minutes later, UNW's
Josiah Donat (Elk River, Minn./Washtenaw Christian Academy) leveled the score, 2-2, as he sank a pass from teammate
Daniel Clotarie (Les Cayes, Haiti/Concordia Academy).
Continuing to impress, Donat knocked in two more goals on the contest, which was enough to help secure a 4-2 victory over the home team.
As a collective group, Northwestern recorded 14 shots [11 SOG], outshining Crowns five shots [3 SOG].
UNW's game leaders on the day's competition were Donat [5S / 5 SOG / 3G], Clotarie [2A], and
Joshua Hintz (New Brighton, Minn./Mounds View) [3S / 2 SOG].
