ST. PAUL – The University of Northwestern women's basketball team (1-2) dropped Saturday's matinee with Nebraska Wesleyan (0-2), 63-44. The Eagles were haunted by 25 turnovers.
UNW ended the contest on a bright note, putting together a solid 10 minutes in the final frame to outscore the Prairie Wolves 16-9 in the fourth.
Amy Berglund (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) went 6-for-11 from the floor to finish with a team-high 14 points. She also grabbed five boards and dished out four assists.
Audrey Lefto (Stillwater, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) buried a trio of triples en route to finishing with 10 points.
Andrea Zimpel (Isle, Minn./Isle) posted a game-high five helpers, and
Alex Peterson (St. Paul, Minn. /Como Park) pulled down six rebounds.
UNW finished shooting 34.6 percent from the field (18-of-52), while they hit 7-of-22 (31.82 percent) on three point attempts. NWU ended the contest hitting 30.0 percent of its shots.
