Eagles Remain Undefeated in UMAC With 88-57 Win At Crown

ST. BONIFACIUS, MINN. – The University of Northwestern men's basketball team remained perfect in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play with an 88-57 victory at Crown College (3-9, 2-3) Friday night. The purple and gold improve to 8-4 on the season and 5-0 in conference play.

Throughout the first 20:00 of play, UNW had a strong performance as they headed into halftime with a 35-14 lead over CC.

As the team took on the second half battle, the Eagles once again overtook the Storm – outscoring them 53-43 – which allowed Northwestern to capture an 88-57 victory to remain undefeated in league play.

Will Gisler (Stewartville, Minn./Stewartville) had the hot hands on the night as he led the pack with 15 points – going 6-15 from the field. In his efforts, Gisler also recorded six rebounds and dished five assists to finish off the evening.

Teammates Tanner Youngberg (Pocahontas, Iowa/Pocahontas Area) and Anderson Bazile Jr. (Houston, Tex./San Antonio Reagan) concluded with 14 points. Youngberg also clutched two steals, two rebounds, and one assist while Bazile added three rebounds.

Respectively, Cody Sprenger (Grey Eagle, Minn./Long Prairie-Grey Eagle) also scored in double digits for the Eagles as he closed the contest with 11 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

UNW capped off the night by shooting 50.8% from the field, while Crown finished the match by shooting 37.9% from the floor. As a team, the Eagles collected 39 rebounds (11 OFF & 28 DEF), tallied 15 assists, and snatched 10 steals to conclude the contest.
