WINONA LAKE, Ind. – The University of Northwestern women's basketball team jumped out to an 11-0 lead over Roberts Wesleyan in Thursday's National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Tournament's first semifinal, but the Eagles couldn't hold on, falling to Division II Roberts Wesleyan College (28-7), 65-55, on the campus of Grace College.
The Eagles, who fall to 23-7 on the year, will now play for third place on Saturday at 9 a.m. (CT) against Oklahoma Baptist.
Senior
Courtney Cunard (Missouri Valley, Iowa/Missouri Valley) made it a historic afternoon, as she pulled down nine rebounds to join the 500-rebound club at Northwestern. Cunard becomes the 15th player in program history to eclipse the mark and the second this week, as

A high-scoring third quarter, saw the Redhawks jump on top, as their 27 third-quarter points gave them a 46-37 lead heading into the fourth. UNW was able to cut the deficit to four with a Cunard 3-pointer at the 8:15 mark of the fourth, but RWC pulled away down the stretch to earn a spot in the NCCAA National Championship.
Amy Berglund (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) went 6-of-10 from the floor to finish with a team-high 12 points, while
Kim Campbell (Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy) had a strong outing, netting 11 points, including three treys. Berglund, Campbell and Cunard all dished out four assists.
Northwestern shot 36.4 percent from floor and 26.1 percent from long range, while Roberts Wesleyan ended the afternoon shooting 36.1 percent from the field and 28 percent from 3-point land.
