WINONA LAKE, Ind. – The University of Northwestern women's basketball team saw its record-breaking season come to an end with a hard-fought loss to Oklahoma Baptist University – a Division II institution in Shawnee, Okla., 82-77, in the third place game at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Tournament Saturday morning.

For the second-straight game, UNW came out of the gates firing, jumping out to a 40-37 lead after a high-scoring first half. The second-half mirrored the fast-paced style of the opening 20 minutes, as the teams combined to score 82 points in the second half, but the Bison would prevail to garner third at the national tournament.
Sophomore
Jessica Cole (Altoona, Iowa/Southeast Polk) had a banner morning, as the guard finished 9-of-15 from the field to score a career-high 22 points, while Cunard made the most of her final collegiate game, netting 13 points.
Regan Cooper (Pella, Iowa/Pella) tossed in nine points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
Taryn Tumbleson (Sherburn, Minn./Martin County West) put a wrap on her stellar rookie campaign, finishing with 10 points, four assists and a pair of steals. For her outstanding play at the tournament, Cooper was named to the five-member NCCAA All-Tournament Team.
The Eagles shot the ball extremely well, finishing the contest 31-of-62 from the field (50 percent) and 8-of-21 (38.1 percent) from 3-point land. OBU connected on 46 percent of its shots from the field and tallied a 41.7 shooting percentage from beyond the arc. Northwestern dominated the glass, outrebounding Oklahoma Baptist 39-21.
Tasha Edge cashed in on six 3-pointers and scored a game-high 24 points for the Bison.

Regan Cooper (Pella, Iowa/Pella) wear the Purple and Gold. The trio helped the Eagles reach back-to-back NCCAA National Tournaments.
