MINNEAPOLIS – Six players scored in double figures as the University of Northwestern men's basketball team knocked off North Central University (11-11, 7-5), 93-79, Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Eagles improve to 18-3 overall and 10-2 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC). UNW remains atop the league standings with Saturday's victory.

Porter Morrell (Elk River, Minn./Home School) free-throws distanced the gap to 16 as the Eagles secured their 18
th win of the season.
Michael Carney (Ames, Iowa/Des Moines Christian) drained five triples en route to finishing with a team-high 15 points.
Cody Sprenger (Grey Eagle, Minn./Long Prairie-Grey Eagle) and
Porter Morrell (Elk River, Minn./Home School) both netted 14, while
Will Gisler (Stewartville, Minn./Stewartville),
Clay Elrod (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) and
Kyle Ooms (Hollandale, MN/Albert Lea High School) all contributed 12.
Peter Maring (Harris, Minn./Cambridge Christian) chipped in eight points and grabbed eight rebounds in the winning effort.
UNW shot 48.5 percent from the floor and 44.4 percent from long range, while NCU finished shooting 53.6 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from 3-point land.
