ST. PAUL— The University of Northwestern defeated Northland College 82-51 at Hoops Hysteria Saturday night.
With a halftime score of 44-29, Northwestern entered the locker room with a comfortable 15 point lead.
Regan Cooper (Pella, Iowa/Pella) tallied 12 points in the first two quarters, shooting 6 for 8 in the field.
Momentum was in the home team's favor as the Eagles plunged to a 82-51 victory over the Lumber Jills.
Jessica Cole (Altoona, Iowa/Southeast Polk) amassed 17 points, hitting 100% of her three-pointers, the second consecutive game for the sophomore. Cooper came in with 14 points, leading with seven rebounds.
Taryn Tumbleson (Sherburn, Minn./Martin County West) also had a great night for the Eagles, contributing 12 points, in addition to five assists on the floor.
The Eagles will travel to Morris, Minnesota Friday night to face the University of Minnesota-Morris at 7:30 p.m. to kick off their road trip west. Northwestern will see Crown College in St. Bonifatius, Minnesota on Saturday night for a 5 p.m. tip off.
