Volleyball to Host “Cause Night” Wednesday

Team to raise money for Preemptive Love Coalition

ST. PAUL – The University of Northwestern volleyball team will host its annual "Cause Night" on Wednesday when they host Bethel inside the Ericksen Center at 7 p.m. This year's event will raise money for Preemptive Love Coalition – a group that organizes heart surgeries for kids in Iraq who are suffering birth defects from the chemical warfare in the region.

To raise money for PLC, the volleyball team will have a silent auction set up for bidding before and throughout the game. Click here to view a complete list of the silent auction items. (Cash or check will be accepted)

The Match
In what looks to be a very competitive non-conference match, the Eagles welcome an undefeated Bethel squad for a midweek contest. Both teams are receiving votes in the most recent American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 poll. Click here to view the complete poll.

UNW is coming off a weekend in which they went 2-2 at its own tournament. After falling to No. 23 Coe and Dominican (receiving votes) Friday night, the Eagles bounced back and picked up a pair of huge wins over Loras and then-ranked No. 20 Augsburg Auggies.  For their weekend efforts, sophomores Lindsey Peterson (Sheffield, Iowa/West Fork) and Jackie Foster (Charles City, Iowa/Charles City) were selected to the 10-member All-Tournament team.

Note: Fans are encouraged to wear purple, as Wednesday has been deemed as a "Purple Out"
