Fryc seals the deal with OT victory under the lights over Crown

ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn.— The University of Northwestern celebrated an overtime victory over Crown College Tuesday night with a final score of 3-2 in St. Bonifacius, Minnesota.

Crown's first goal in the first half was a result from a Storm corner kick.  With 24 minutes until halftime, William Hentges (Andover, Minn./Anoka) had a near goal from a pass from Matthew McCann (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield) that was barely stopped by the CC goalkeeper. Ben Lassig (La Crescent, Minn./La Crescent) scored his first goal 68 minutes in and with 9:12 left on the clock, Eric Fast (Eagan, Minn./Homeschool) notched in another Eagle goal.
Crown responded just five minutes later to tie the game at 2. As the time ran out, both teams were forced into overtime. In the second 10-minute segment, Joshua Fryc (Harris, Minn./Homeschool) brought UNW to victory with a rocket, assisted by Matthew McCann (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield) in the 106th minute.

Northwestern, 3-2 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, will resume conference play in Mankato on Saturday afternoon for a 2 p.m. matchup against Bethany Lutheran College. The Eagles host three games next week, starting with Hamline University on Monday night under the lights with a kickoff of 7 p.m.
