New Ulm, Minn. — The University of Northwestern struggled in its first conference away game, falling by a final score of 4-1 at Martin Luther College Saturday afternoon.
Five minutes into the game, MLC scores off a corner kick. Going into halftime with one goal behind, Northwestern was fighting to get on the scoreboard.
Martin Luther kept fueling the flame with two additional goals 20 and 25 minutes into the second period. Finally UNW was able to respond, only a minute after MLC's third goal, as Eric Fast (Eagan, Minn./Homeschool) scored on a penalty kick. Unfortunately, the Eagles could not overcome the three goal deficit, falling to the Knights.
Northwestern will travel to St. Bonifacius on Tuesday night as they compete against Crown College at 5 p.m.
