ST PAUL — The University of Northwestern fell 4-0 in loss to the College of St. Scholastica. The Saints remain undefeated in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference.
St. Scholastica started off the first half strong with three goals, two by Jonny Harkin.
Mateusz Gralinski (Mahtomedi, Minn./Mahtomedi) had the closest scoring opportunity in the first 13 minutes into the half, with a shot from the right, leading to a corner kick. CSS outshot the Eagles 10 to 1 going into halftime.
Tom Corcoran, Scholastica's leading scorer, notched in a goal resulting from a penalty kick with 30:39 left in the second period. With a near goal with 29:36 remaining, Yoseif Temnewo hit the post from a beautiful pass from
William Hentges (Andover, Minn./Anoka) just behind the box.
Northwestern will host Augsburg College on Tuesday night at 5 p.m. The Eagles will travel to New Ulm on Saturday for a conference matchup against Martin Luther College at 2 p.m.
