MENOMONIE, Wis. – After dropping the first two sets 25-18 and 25-23, the University of Northwestern volleyball team (5-6) stormed back to win the next three sets (25-20,25-17, 15-12) and the match over the University of Wisconsin-Stout (8-4) in a non-conference contest Wednesday night.
Abby Vander Galien (Chanhassen, Minn./Southwest Christian) – who recently made the switch to outsider hitter for the Eagles - had a monster night, as the sophomore slammed 15 kills to lead the UNW attack. Fellow sophomore
Lindsey Peterson (Sheffield, Iowa/West Fork) also had a big night, flooring 14 kills and recording 19 digs for her ninth double-double of the season.
Kaelyn Kilbo (Delano, Minn./Delano) had 25 assists, while
Leesa Hulstrand (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) added 18. Reigning UMAC Defensive Player of the Week
Jackie Foster (Charles City, Iowa/Charles City) had 28 digs.
UNW owned the net, as the Eagles had 10 blocks.
Shanay Gonder (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Washington) led the charge up front with seven blocks.
