GAME 1: UNW 4, NC 1

Thelkeld led off the bottom of the first with a single up the left side.  Forcier followed with a sacrifice bunt with Ankrom at the plate next who was hit by the pitch. With a fielder's choice, Northland got Threlkeld out at third. Silbernick was next at bat with two outs on the board, but was thrown out at first.

Colleen Feldheim (Northfield, Ill./Loyola Academy) led with a single, and Emily Guerkink successfully bunted with two quickly on base.
Ellen Larkin (Excelsior, Minn./Southwest Christian) was thrown out at first, advancing both runners and Courtney Guetter (Fairmont, Minn./Fairmont) came in clutch with an RBI single up the left field. With one out on the board, Threlkeld earned an RBI with a pop up to right center that dropped between the outfielders. With a Jills double play, Northwestern led 2-0 going into the third.

Threlkeld scored the fourth run for the Eagles in the bottom of the fourth, improving to a 4-0 lead after a single run in the third. Northland's Karen Malecha scored with a homerun in the seventh to put their only point on the board.

Game 2: UNW 12, NC 0

Jennifer Ankrom (New Hampton, Iowa/New Hampton) held nothing back, hammering a homer to center field, scoring in Forcier as well. Guerkink doubled to right center, as Lokke scored in. With Feldheim on third base, both her and Guerkink scored due to an error by Northland's second baseman. With three unearned runs so far, the Eagles led 5-0 in the first inning.

Two additional runs were scored in the bottom of the second. Threlkeld was the first to score off a wild pitch. With the bases loaded, Klingbeil's walk scored in Forcier on third. Northland halted the home team's offensive momentum with a 5-0 deficit. The third inning would be the last scoring inning of the five inning game with five explosive hits to cap off the game.  Forcier tripled but scored on an error in the outfield. Forcier racked 2 RBIs for that hit as Threlkled and Krantz ran home. Ankrom scored again on a Jills error in center field, leading to the last scoring play of the day by Guerkink, as her single brought in Lokke for a 12-0 victory.

Northwestern will play at 10 a.m. on Friday in Duluth, Minnesota as the third seed in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament.
