NORTHFIELD, Minn. — The University of Northwestern St. Paul women's basketball team opened the 2015-2016 campaign with a 53-48 win over Carleton College Saturday night. With a low scoring game in Northfield, the Eagles came out on top after being down 25-21 at halftime.
Junior
Tiffany Stubbs (Ames, Iowa/Des Moines Christian) led with 17 points. Stubbs led the Eagles from behind the arc
Amy Berglund (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) and
Regan Cooper (Pella, Iowa/Pella) came in at eight apiece. Cooper also led in rebounds with nine.
Courtney Cunard (Missouri Valley, Iowa/Missouri Valley) added nine rebounds as well, adding to Northwestern's total of 36.
Carleton's Anne Hamilton led the Knights with 18 points, with the next highest scorer at eight points.
The Eagles will host the first of a four game home-stand starting with Augsburg College Tuesday night at the Ericksen Center for a tipoff time of 7 p.m.
