Eagles Push Win Streak to 10 With Sweep of Hamline

ST. PAUL – The University of Northwestern volleyball took its nine-game win streak down Snelling Avenue Friday night for a non-conference tilt with Hamline. The Eagles made it 10 in a row with a sweep of the host Pipers, winning by set scores of 25-19, 25-20 and 25-12.

After the first two sets were tightly contested, the Eagles pulled away in set three to complete the sweep.

Sophomore Lindsey Peterson (Sheffield, Iowa/West Fork) once again led the offensive charge, flooring a match-high 13 kills, while Lydia Palkert (Excelsior, Minn./Southwest Christian) slammed eight kills. Palkert finished the evening with an eye-popping .889 hitting percentage. Leesa Hulstrand (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) racked up 17 assists, while Kaelyn Kilbo (Delano, Minn./Delano) added 14. Jackie Foster (Charles City, Iowa/Charles City) led all players with her 14 digs.

Shanay Gonder (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Washington) recorded six blocks, as the Eagles owned a 10-5 advantage in the blocks category.

It will be a quick turnaround for the UNW spikers, as they will play host to Northland Saturday. First serve inside the Ericksen Center is slated for 3 p.m.
