Eagles Head South For Contest at Greenville

ST. PAUL – The University of Northwestern football team hits the road for its final regular season road game of the season Saturday, as the Eagles will play at Greenville. Kickoff in Greenville, Ill. is set for 12 noon.

The Northwestern File
The University of Northwestern enters Saturday's contest with a 6-2 overall record and 6-1 mark in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play. The Eagles most recently defeated a tough Westminster squad, 27-10, last week at Reynolds Field. Grant Schoen (Independence, Minn. /Orono) tossed three touchdown passes in the win over the Panthers and Ben Greener (Foley, Minn./Home School) recorded a game-high 13 tackles to lead the Eagles defense.

A Look at the Opponent
Greenville is 3-5 overall and 3-4 in the UMAC this fall after picking up a 47-21 win at Martin Luther last week. All three of the Panthers' wins have been on the road. Junior running back Hamid Camara ranks second in the league with his average of 109 rushing yards per game. The junior has scored eight touchdowns on the season. On the defensive side of the ball, Robert Deering's 12.1 tackles per game leads the UMAC.

Stout Defense
UNW's defense continues to shine this season, as the Eagles held Westminster to a season-low 10 points and 207 yards of total offense last week. The 10 points allowed is right at Northwestern's season average (10.8 points per game in 2015) – a number that ranks ninth in the country. UNW is sixth in the nation in total defense, surrendering an average of just 223.9 total yards per game.

Sutton For Six
Wide receiver Joe Sutton (Minneapolis, Minn./Benilde St. Margaret's) hauled in a pair of Grant Schoen (Independence, Minn. /Orono) touchdown passes last week, as the senior caught a 4-yard fade in the first quarter before sealing the win with a beautiful 7-yard touchdown reception in the fourth. Sutton finished the day with seven catches for 61 yards.

What's Next
The Eagles will return to St. Paul to host their final regular season game of the season, as Eureka makes the trip up to Reynolds Field. The Panthers remain in Greenville to host St. Scholastica next Saturday.
