ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference announced its 2025 Football Awards on Thursday, and the second-place University of Northwestern Football team was well-represented. Two Eagles earned First Team All-Conference honors, while nine were named to 10 positions on the Second Team, plus the team's representative on the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Robbie Hussey (Bay Village, Ohio/Westside Christian Academy) was Northwestern's lone offensive selection to the All-Conference First Team after a stellar first season as the team's starting right tackle. The sophomore was an iron man, starting all 10 games and excelling in pass blocking, helping UNW to the third-best passing offense in the conference. Hussey was joined on the First Team by
Ian Ahrendt (Nevis, Minn./Nevis Public), the Eagles' only member of the team on the defensive side of the ball. Ahrendt finished the season as the second-leading tackler in UMAC games with 72, adding 3.5 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one interception. This is the junior's first appearance on any All-UMAC team.
The Second Team All-Conference parade of purple began with
Max Siegel (Rochester, N.Y./Maricopa), who stepped into the starting center role his sophomore season and started all 10 games.
Braeden Little (Ladysmith, Wis./Ladysmith) found himself on the Second Team twice, as both a wide receiver and a punt returner, after an impressive rookie campaign. The freshman was sixth in UMAC play in both receptions (25) and receiving yards (327) with two touchdowns, and was second among qualifying punt returners with 6.8 yards per return.
Trey Ulmer (West Melbourne, Fla./Heritage) earned Second Team status for the second time in as many years in college after hauling in 17 passes in conference competition for 286 yards.
Ulmer's quarterback,
Basil Demco (Fontana, Wis./Big Foot), also made his debut appearance on the All-Conference Second Team after making the switch from linebacker to signal-caller due to two injuries at the position. The senior performed admirably given the circumstances, throwing for 886 yards in conference games and seven touchdowns, in addition to being the UMAC's eighth-leading rusher with 241 yards and six rushing scores.
Keaton Sargent (Manhattan, Mont./Manhattan) was the conference's fifth-leading rusher in yards per game with 48.5 (291 total), and received his first-career Second Team All-Conference nod for his efforts. The sophomore also scored two touchdowns, including one of the highlights of UNW's season, when he darted 71 yards to paydirt to tie the Homecoming game against Greenville in the fourth quarter.
Northwestern also had a quartet of defenders on the All-Conference Second Team, beginning with defensive tackle
Hakeem Anderson (Cuero, Texas/Cuero). Anderson racked up 30 tackles in conference play, including a season-high nine in the win vs. Crown, and added four tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks.
Jayden Goodwin (New Richmond, Wis./Saint Croix Central) finishes his career with his second, Second Team nod, sandwiched in between a pair of First Team honors. The senior linebacker was as disruptive as ever, logging 51 tackles (seventh in the UMAC), 6.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, two interceptions (tied for second), one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
Gideon Cruver (Fayetteville, Ga./Landmark Christian) received Second Team All-Conference recognition for the second time in his career in 2025, but his first as a linebacker, after receiving the honor as a tight end last season. The two-way player became a three (or maybe even four?)-way player this season, adding sporadic kicking and punting duties. As a linebacker, Cruver racked up 36 tackles, nine tackles for loss (seventh in the conference), 3.5 sacks (seventh), three forced fumbles (second) and two interceptions in UMAC play, proving his versatility as a defensive playmaker.
Austin Ahrendt (Nevis, Minn./Nevis Public) put together another good season at safety, earning the sophomore his first-ever Second Team All-Conference nod. Ahrendt was ninth in conference play in tackles (56), adding an interception and two pass breakups.
Cody Duffy (Columbus, Ga./Chattahoochee County) was recognized as UNW's representative on the All-Sportsmanship team for his senior leadership despite battling injuries in his final season.
