Box Score NEW ULM, Minn. — The University of Northwestern stole the 4-0 victory over Martin Luther College in their first road trip of the season. The shutout on Saturday afternoon was the second of the season for the Eagles.
The first 29 minutes of play were quiet on both ends, with both teams remaining scoreless until freshman
Matthew McCann (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield) knocked his second goal of the season in, assisted by
Andres Almarza (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Christian).
David Mooers (Anoka, Minn./Anoka) added another goal shortly after.
Andres Almarza (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Christian) wasn't quite satisfied with one assist and contributed his own goal just before halftime, locking in a 3-0 lead for the visitors going into half.
Sean Denniston (Hartland, Wis. /Arrowhead) was the last of the Purple and Gold to score in the 55th minute, the first of his Eagle career. The Eagles out-shot the Vikings 22-12 and secured their second conference win.

Jordan Salm (Cleveland, Wis./Sheboygan North) racked up five saves for his 80 minutes and goal and
Shane Coleman (Wyoming, Minn./Homeschool)d added a solo save within his 10 minutes.
Northwestern (2-7 overall, 2-2 UMAC) will hit the road again this weekend to face Crown College at 7:15 p.m. on Friday night and Bethany Lutheran College at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday.
