Box Score ST. PAUL— The University of Northwestern struggled to keep up with the University of Minnesota Morris as they lose 6-0 in their first road trip of the season.
The home team spread all six goals across the board with six different players taking away a piece of the win; and for five of them, it was their first goal of the season. Jacob Sphatt was the first contributor for Morris with a shot inside the box to the left in the 18th minute. With the second goal from Joshua Bartels, the Cougars led Northwestern 2-0 going into halftime.
Unfortunately the game continued to go downhill for the Purple and Gold as Morris gained momentum and racked up four more goals for the night. Two of which were scored within seconds by Momodou Jallow at 71:21 and Devin Chuba at 71:26. With few opportunities on offense, UNW was out-shot by UMM 15-2.
In pursuit of their second win this season, Northwestern (1-6 overall, 1-2 UMAC) will play at Martin Luther College tomorrow at 12 p.m and will host Crown College and Bethany Lutheran College next weekend at Reynolds Field.
