Box Score ABERDEEN, S.D. -- Northwestern remained just a game back from contention in the UMAC playoffs following a 70-60 victory over Presentation College on Friday night. The Eagles, who improve to 8-14 overall and 5-6 in conference play, never trailed in the game.
Jessica FIfe (Maple Grove, Minn./Osseo) turned in her second consecutive double-double with a 20-point, 12-rebound performance against the Saints.
Chanel Madson (Westbrook, Minn./Westbrook-Walnut Grove) added 21 points for the Eagles, who had four players finish in double figures. NWC was 25-63 shooting as a team (39.7 percent). Northwestern had one of its best games of the season in terms of mistakes as the Purple and Gold committed just 11 turnovers.
With three UMAC games left to play, the first of which will come on Saturday afternoon at the University of Minnesota Morris, the Eagles are just a game behind Northland College, who currently holds the fourth spot in the conference standings with a 6-5 league record. Saturday's tip-off in Morris against the Cougars is scheduled for 3 p.m.
