ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northwestern College men's soccer team posted its second tie in as many weeks on Thursday after a 0-0 double overtime duel against Northland College. The Eagles outshot the home team 34-6 but were unable to convert one of those scoring attempts into a goal during the 110 minutes of play.

NWC posted a significant offensive advantage over the Lumberjacks throughout the course of the game, including earning a 9-1 edge in shots in the 20 minutes of overtime competition. The Purple and Gold also had the upper hand in corner kicks as it held Northland to zero while tallying nine.

Even though the Eagles peppered the Lumberjacks with continual offensive attacks, the visitors were unable to get a ball past the Northland back line as goalkeeper Colton Schreyer fended off 20 NWC shots on goal.

After traveling to northern Wisconsin for Thursday's contest, Northwestern (7-5-2, 5-5-2 conference) will return to Reynolds Field for a 12 p.m. matinee game on Saturday against the College of St. Scholastica.

St. Scholastica is currently atop the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) standings with a perfect 9-0 record. The two teams last met on September 22 in Duluth, Minn. as the Saints earned a victory over the Eagles.

Both live stats and video will be available for Saturday's home game.
