ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. -- Northwestern College held Crown College to a combined four hits between two games on Monday afternoon, crushing the Storm 24-0 and 26-0. Northwestern posted hit totals of 17 and 25 in the doubleheader while Crown posted 13 errors on the day.
In the first game, 
Ashley Olson (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd) (Brainerd, MInn./Baxter) threw all five innings for Northwestern, striking out seven of the 18 batters she faced. 
Erin Wankerl (Willmar, Minn./Willmar) (Willmar, Minn./Willmar) accounted for a whopping six RBI in the abbreviated game, tallying four hits in as many at bats. 
Briana Rodgers (Monticello, Minn./Monticello) (Monticello, Minn./Monticello) followed with a 3-for-5 performance at the plate, producing four RBI while 
Erin Kleinjan (Avon, Minn./Holdingford) (Avon, Minn./Holdingford) also posted three hits.
Anna Schurch (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North) (Lakeville, Minn./North) hurled the second game for the Purple and Gold, sitting down the Crown batters after entering the pitcher's circle with a 10-run lead behind her before throwing her first pitch. Rodgers added four more RBI in Game 2, going 4-5 in the batter's box with four runs scored. Alli Witthus (Chanhassen, Minn./Southwest Christian) and Wankerl each hit a triple as everyone in the Eagles lineup improved their season batting average en route to a 26-0 lopsided final score.
Following the wins, the Eagles improved to 12-14 on the season and 7-4 in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play. Next up for NWC is Bethany Lutheran College, who will face the Eagles at Reynolds Field on Thursday, April 21 at 3 p.m.
