Men's Soccer earns fifth shutout in six games in 2-0 victory over Crown

Box Score ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. – One day after defeating Crown College 1-0 at Reynolds Field, the Eagles doubled the score on Saturday, defeating the Storm 2-0 on their home turf on Saturday.

Evan Grandlich (Milwaukee, Wis./Lake Country Lutheran) (Milwaukee, Wis. / Lake Country Lutheran) latched on to a through ball from Robbie Denniston (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) in the 35th minute, putting a goal through to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead at halftime.  Six minutes into the second half, Sam Mann (Woodbury, Minn./St. Paul Central) (Woodbury, Minn./St. Paul Central) scored his fifth goal of the season on a one-on-one with the goalkeeper after taking a pass from Stephen Ricks (Blaine, Minn./Blaine) (Blaine, Minn./Blaine).

Eric Bocan (Anoka, Minn./Meadow Creek) (Anoka, Minn./Meadow Creek) chalked up another shutout, his fifth straight, after tallying three saves.

With their second win in as many days, the Eagles improved to 6-6-2 overall and 5-1-1 in UMAC action. Northwestern will return home for its next game, which is scheduled for Thursday, October 13 at 3:30 p.m. against Martin Luther College.
