Early Carleton goals haunt Men's Soccer

Box Score

ST. PAUL -- A pair of goals by Carleton College within the first ten minutes of Tuesday's game doomed Northwestern College from the get-go, and the Eagles were never able to recover in the 2-0 final.

Carleton's Taylor Ward put the Knights on the board 5:58 into the contest and Tim Wills added an insurance goal less than four minutes later.  Ryan Cammarota assisted in both Knights scores and MIAC-leading Carleton left Reynolds Field with a shutout.

Northwestern got six shots off in the game, one of which was on goal, compared to nine for the Knights.  Josh Niedermayer (Oconomowoc, Wis./Kettle Moraine) (Oconomowoc, Wis./Kettle Morraine) had three saves in the first half before yeilding the net-minding duties to Kenny Francis (South St. Paul, Minn./South St. Paul) (South St. Paul, Minn./South St. Paul), who added one save.

The Eagles will return to action this Friday, when they host Bethany Lutheran College at home.  Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
