Eagles double up Crown

ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. (Jan. 29, 2009) --
The Northwestern College women's basketball team improved its Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) record to 6-2 on Thursday after doubling up Crown College, 60-30.  Katie DeWitt (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) recorded a double-double for the Eagles, scoring 16 points to go with 12 rebounds.

All but one player wearing a NWC uniform recorded double-digit minutes in the win over Crown, who was playing its third game under the helm of new interim head coach Brittany Stroop.  Kaelee Kendrick (Eagan, Minn./Bethany Academy) (Eagan, Minn./Bethany Academy) finished 4 of 8 from the field and 5 of 6 from the free throw line for 13 points. 

The Eagles recorded as many steals as they did turnovers, tallying 10 in each column.  Northwestern owned a 17-board advantage in the rebounding category.

Following the win, NWC (8-11 overall) will get its first weekend off since Christmas break with no games scheduled until Friday, Feb. 6, when the Eagles travel to Mankato, Minn. to face Bethany Lutheran College.  Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
