ASHLAND, Wis. (Sep. 20, 2008) – The Northwestern College men's soccer team made it two wins in a row in their first weekend of Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play, defeating Northland College 1-0 in double overtime. The Eagles entered the game fresh off of a 2-0 victory over St. Scholastica on Friday. Goals didn't come as easy or as quick for NWC on Saturday, but the end result still had Northwestern in the win column.

Philip Lodien (Kalispell, MT/Stillwater Christian High School) (Kalispell, Mont./Stillwater Academy) had the only goal of the game, taking a pass from teammate
Benjamin Fast (Eagan, Minn./Henry Sibley) (Eagan, Minn./Henry Sibley) and putting it in the back of the net in the 108th minute.
Northwestern dominated the shots category, tallying 24 to Northland's eight.
Eagles keeper
Danny King (Willmar, MN/Willmar High School) (Willmar, Minn./Willmar) recorded four saves to preserve his second straight shutout in as many days.
Northwestern (3-4 overall, 2-0 UMAC) will return home to face the highly touted Cougars from the University of Minnesota, Morris on Friday. That game is set to begin at 2 p.m.
