Box Score

LA CROSSE, Wis. (Nov. 29, 2008) –
Northwestern College was on the losing end of a 71-59 score against Viterbo University on Saturday afternoon, as the V-Hawks made 56 percent of their attempts en route to a win.

Viterbo, who edged the Eagles last year in the Ericksen Center, owned a 20-8 advantage in assists while out-rebounding Northwestern 31-25. Although the Eagles were able to keep their turnovers relatively low, Viterbo was still able to score 20 points off of NWC's mistakes. The V-Hawks' 28 points in the paint doubled Northwestern's efforts under the hoop.

Ariel Liesch (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) scored 20 points for Northwestern in the loss. Katie DeWitt (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) followed with nine points, while Marcy Nelson (Sandstone, Minn./East Central) (Sandstone, Minn./East Central) added eight points and five rebounds.

Viterbo (5-3 overall) had three players in double figures, including Katina Mandylaris, who led her team with 18 points and eight rebounds.

Northwestern (1-5 overall) will return to action on Tuesday, Dec. 2, when the Eagles travel to Menomonie, Wis. to face the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
